Defunct is een adventure game met een focus op ‘flow’, snelheid en een interessante wereld. Jij speelt een kapotte robot die uit een vrachtschip is gevallen en neerkwam op een post-apocalyptische aarde vol robots. Je moet terug naar je schip zien te komen voordat het te laat is!
Je bent uitgerust met een gravitatiemotor. Deze creëert een zwaartekrachtveld om je heen en is je hoofdbron voor snelheid. Gebruik hem heuvelafwaarts om te versnellen. Pas wel op, want heuvelopwaarts vertraagt hij je. Verder vind je volop boosters, zoals Enerjuice, die je extra snelheid geven.
Deze hulpmiddelen helpen je door de wereld te rijden, rare robots te ontmoeten, door schroothopen te vliegen en al boostend terug naar het schip te komen.
